Tributes
I didn't know Barry. Just wanted to pay my respects. After reading your obit on line, Barry, I learned you were a retired police officer (thank you for your service). That in itself speaks to the man you were, as do the tributes left here in your memory. America will never forget. To his wife, children, and friends, well wishes from a stranger. May you all find joy in your lives in the years ahead.

I knew barry for many years as he was one of my closest friends from the early 70's when he would tend bar at my fathers restaurant in manhattan, 'DENO'S' on 26th st and 3rd ave. he was the funniest guy you ever met and everybody loved him. I remember how much he loved his wife and his 2 children. I have only just found out that he passed that day and am deeply saddened. Life took us in different directions but i always will consider him one of my brothers (which he basically was for all those years) and will keep him and his family in my prayers

Lauren Kirschbaum, Family
My sympathies go out to Barry’s family and friends. In addition to being the funniest person I know, Barry was a caring and helpful person. He always had a joke or something funny to say and willing to help. Barry and I were colleagues, he was responsible for the safety of our colleagues and I took care of the financials. The last project we worked together on was the security guard renewal contract. Barry made certain that the interest of the firm as well as the guards were addressed in the contract – he mentioned that his guards were underpaid by their agency and the main reason for an exceptionally low turnover in his group was due to his good working relationship with his staff. Barry and I got along well.

'WHAT'S UP' That's what Barry would always scream at me when he walked past my desk. Barry had a great sense of humor and was the best.
