Although today is the 16th anniversary of that tragic day, we remember Jim and his family throughout each year. Jim was so dedicated to our town's youth athletics. Both D.J. And Sean were friends of our sons and I want Jim to know that the circumstances of his passing were the driving force of our son's decision to join the military. God Bless you.

I had the wonderful pleasure of coaching with Jim and watching our sons grow up. I learned a lot from Jim and every year, when I enter the gym to coach another season of basketball, I remember the special season we shared those many years ago in Marlborough. Jim was an unusual coach, an amazing coach. The season we enjoyed was quite the learning experience. Most notable, was how Jim brilliantly crafted 2 squads out of our team, and he played every player for the exact amount of time. It was amazing to me how everyone's contribution exceeded my expectations, and how all the kids seemed to accept their roles. His coaching style really inspired these young men - all of them. We followed our coach through a terrific season and our only loss came when Jim was in California on business and it was up to me to run things. I think the trophy we brought home was as tall as me so it wasn't all bad. I think of Jim often and the sadness of this loss of life saddens me as much today as it did nine years ago. To Sheila, Derrick and DJ, I send all my love, prayers and best wishes. Jeff Yardis

Who would have thought that someone from Marlborough, CT would be working at the World Trade Center that fateful day? I have never forgotten Jim and what a wonderfuol baseball coach he was for MYAL (Marlborough Youth Athletic League) and friend to myself and my daughter Jodi. We often speak of him and I'm sure we will today especially. My thoughts are with you Sheila as you remember him on this unforgettable day.

I think of Jim often through out the year, always in March around his birthday and again in June remembering the bright, sunny day that Jim and Shelia married and the fun we had at the reception. I remember all the happy times, Jim's smile and that sense of humor. But on 9/11 my heart fills with tremendous sadness for the loss of this good man. My thoughts are with you Shelia, Sean, Derrick, Grace and Donna

I am Jim's big sister and miss him terribly. Every year at this time in September I come back to Connecticut to be with Jim's mother. She is 89 years of age and has lost her husband and all of her son's, yet she continues to be a vibrant part her community and church... We will always miss and love Jim.... I will read all of your messages to Jim's Mom. It helps to know that he touched many hearts...

Jim was my strength and my soulmate for 31 years It began as a highschool romance and evolved into our life plan. That plan was abruptly ended that fateful day but Jim will always live on in my heart. His gentle manner, love and kindness will alwasy carry on in his sons as well(Sean and Derrick). They strive as young men to be the type of man their dad was. Sean now has a daughter and only hopes to become the kind of Dad that Jim was....There will always be an emptiness in our lives without him here...His Mom lost her 3rd son that day and a part of her spirit disappeared. She does carry on and her faith helped to heal. Bless all those that wrote kind words on this site.
